Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy
Child Psychotherapy
In psychotherapy, children will not always open up even when they have the verbal skills to do so. They are easily bored, therefor will usually not disclose anything important.
Play therapy is used as a primary means of expression which enables children to better express themselves. In addition, it enhances the interaction between the therapist and the child, supporting it at a psychosocial level, aiming to resolve any conflicts and enabling a healthier development.
Adolescent psychotherapy
Changes brought about by adolescence are neither experienced nor dealt in the same way by everyone. Some adolescents experience transition more easily but for others it can be very challenging, with severe social and emotional consequences.
Family or friend related issues, difficulty managing emotions such as anger can cause adolescents to seek help. Frequent depressive behavior, self-injury, panic attacks or suicidal ideation should not be taken lightly.
